Your word says, "The Lord God of Israel gives strength and power to His people ".
Godly sorrow allows us to see how totally selfish, corrupt and far from God we are and causes us to place our hope in Him. Worldly sorrow, by contrast, is shallow and superficial, producing no real and permanent change.
At its core, repentance is It is turning from our previous self-centered way of life to serve God and center our life around Him.
Never forget, that because we have all fallen short of the glory of God, we have all grieved God so deeply that really His wrath should destroy us instantly, but because of what Jesus did for us on the Cross (with Jesus taking the punishment we should have had), we stand in a place where we can be RESTORED, healed and forgiven…
God’s promise of that transformation makes repentance important in and of itself.
